RONALD JAY GOODMAN - BOARD CERTIFIED ESTATE PLANNER
Ronald Jay Goodman received the designation of accredited estate planner from the National Association of Estate Planning Counsels on July 10, 1995.
The purpose of board certification is to aid the public in identifying lawyers who possess expertise in various fields. In order to become board certified, among other requirements, an applicant must possess experience in the designated field, devote a significant percentage of time to that area, and receive recommendations from fellow attorneys in the field, and possess significant post-graduate educational requirements on an ongoing basis.
The National Association of Estate Planning Counsels, on February 5, 1996 at the American Bar Association's mid-year meeting, was accredited as a certifying body. The American Bar Association, as well as many states, in recent years have begun a program of certifying lawyers who have special qualifications in areas of expertise. While Ohio has implemented a certification program, there have been no organizations that have been approved as certifying bodies.
At the time of Mr. Goodman's receipt of the designation of accredited estate planner, there were under 1,000 attorneys in the United States who had received the designation of accredited estate planner.
